VISIONS FOR LEADERSHIP
*

31 March 2009

The Commonwealth Club, London

The conference is designed to contribute to the work of the CESEW and its support for diocesan officers in securing sufficient confident, competent leaders for Catholic schools. It will also be significant in the context of our joint project, Leaders for Catholic Education, adding to what we have learned through external research conducted by the Opinion Research Business  about leaders’ need for spiritual, ethical and theological resources.  We know that much is already being done, and we aim to build on this, adding value with a   response which is fresh, visionary and sustainable.

Furthering the awareness and preparedness of Foundation Governors to get good leaders is a key element in the work of CESEW in this area and we would particularly like to ensure a good attendance by them at this conference.  To this end, we have secured external funding which enables us to invite representatives from school leadership to bring a Governor as our guest. For those who wish to take advantage of this invitation, there will be no cost for the Governor they bring and only a £20 administration fee for the school delegate.  Because the conference is likely to be over-subscribed, however, we will have to limit attendance to one delegate plus a Governor from each school in the first instance, after which we will allocate places on a first come first served basis.

In addition to this, we are also able to offer a free place to diocesan delegates, although again, places have to be limited to one per diocese initially.

We will strive to ensure representation from across Wales and England.

If you would like to join us at the conference, please complete and return the attached booking form and send it with your payment as soon as possible.

We are very pleased to be able to advise you that His Eminence Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Conner will also be attending the lunch to meet guests and speakers and hear their views on this very important subject.

We very much hope to see you there.
