National Project Co-ordinator rcia RCIA – The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults This post-Vatican Two document is an important part of the strategy of the church in our time for developing communities and ministries for the welcome of new members to the Catholic Church. The Rite underpins the practices of teachers and schools, catechists and parishes, and bishops in their care for their dioceses.
The National RCIA network meets regularly to explore the development of the insights of the rite to encourage the application of its principles and to share good practice.
The Bishops' Conference document on the threshold is a very helpful tool for priests, catechists and parishioners for the fuller implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation. It is published by Matthew James and can be obtained from any good bookshop.
The Department of Education & Formation of the Bishops' Conference of England & Wales has approved a Working Party to take forward the insights and pastoral practice developed from the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults particularly since the publication of On The Threshold. The Chair of this Working Party is Mr. Martin Foster of the Liturgy Office (Liturgy Office Website): email Liturgy.Office@cbcew.org.uk.
