 The Gift of Scripture Unwrapped

The text for this booklet to accompany the Bishop’s Teaching Document Gift of Scripture was produced as an initiative of the ADCAT Committee  who formed a small writing group (Veronica Murphy, David Roberts, Christine Dodd, Anne White) working in association with Fr. Adrian Graffy. It is hoped that the booklet will aid the accessibility of the Bishops’ teaching for individuals and parish groups.

Take and Read: Mark

This is intended as the first volume in a series to encourage individuals and parish groups to study scripture from an informed perspective. There are 12 sessions in this volume. In addition to scriptural texts, discussion questions and material for further reflection, each of the sessions includes a detailed commentary and thought provoking images to enhance discussion. Take and Read: Mark is now available from Matthew James Publishers

Celebrate Together

Published in 2005, Celebrate Together consolidates and further develops the Sacramental education children receive in school through the Here I Am programme, or in their parish through Walk with Me, during the last weeks of preparation prior to receiving Eucharist for the first time. It reinforces what children already know, understand and can do in relation to the Sacrament of the Eucharist by providing them with enriching experiences where they meet, work and celebrate with members of their parish and become familiar with the church and the Mass. This preparation is undertaken in a very practical way.

The parish catechetical team plays a key role throughout the resource. They lead the various sessions, working with parents and children alike, facilitating the children’s encounters with various liturgical ministers, and leading the celebrations that follow on from each of the children’s sessions.
