An application to strike out a libel action against Archbishop Trustees of Plater College and others was yesterday granted in the Oxford County Court by His Honour Judge Jenkins.
The application was brought against Mr John Rhys- Burgess and was granted with costs to be determined at a later date.
Oona Stannard, Chief Executive and Director of the Catholic Education Service, said "Now that the time consuming and expensive legal distractions have been completed this means that the Archbishops and the Catholic Education Service can concentrate on the important task of focusing all their efforts on providing a high quality level of adult education for Catholics, ensuring both theological soundness and secular achievement, in the context of the twenty first century educational landscape ."
