Introduction to Christ At The Centre

The Archdiocese of Birmingham has recently published the excellent document Christ At The Centre.  It has proved hugely popular with diocesan officers and schools.  It provides a summary of why the Church provides schools and offers some very useful answers to questions such as how Catholic schools are distinctive, their characteristics, for whom they are provided, and signs of a Catholic school’s ethos.  Most importantly, the document provides a very clear answer to that often posed question, what are Gospel values?  In discussing these and offering a set of core values based on the beatitudes, the document is useful reading for anyone involved in Catholic education.

Father Marcus Stock, Diocesan Schools’ Commissioner for Birmingham is the author of the document.  Whilst the document may be viewed or downloaded from the CES’ website, hard copies may be ordered from the publisher at £1 per copy.  Further details may be obtained through the following link: http://www.bdsc.org.uk/

It is hoped that Christ At The Centre will be updated and extended.  You are therefore invited to submit any comments, observations and requests that you may have for its future development via the CES.
