Census Evaluation and Data Handling Meeting (26th June 2007)
*

CES Census 2007:  Evaluation and Data Handling Meeting: 10.30 – 12.30 followed by lunch, 26th June 2007, Vaughan House.

There will be a meeting on 26th June for Diocesan Census Representatives, Diocesan Commissioners and Directors of Religious Education to give feedback on this year’s Census and on secure dissemination of data.  Letters of invitation have now been issued.

As you know, the CES Census represents a crucial source of information for the CES and the dioceses in terms of planning and policy-making.  The CES has invested significant resources into the project this year and we are grateful to the members of the Working Group and to diocesan representatives for their unstinting help and support.

We have also been giving considerable thought to how the data from the Census should be handled.    We plan to use part of the meeting to discuss the analysis, organisation and distribution of the data in terms of operational matters (such as the format in which data might be sent to dioceses) as well as more strategic issues such as compliance with the Data Protection Act.

Consequently, the presence of DSCs and DREs would be very welcome.
