Catholic sixth form college is one of top employers
*

Holy Cross Sixth Form College in Bury has recently been listed by the Sunday Times / DTI as one of the top 100 Best Small Companies to work for. It is the first college to be listed since the small companies category was introduced three years ago.

Holy Cross College was ranked 24th in the list. The survey said:

"Developing the whole person, the staff as well as the students, is the priority at Holy Cross Sixth Form College, says its principal Mike O'Hare. "I always ask myself, with any new employees, will they bring any fun to the college, to motivate and enthuse students as well as themselves," he says. "To do the best we can, I genuinely believe this is a vision that all are comfortable with."

According to our survey employees share this view, giving the college an 82% positive score for feeling fully involved at work, a top 20 score, while 85% was given for job security, putting the college in the top 10 nationally. Employees are proud to work for the organisation, awarding it an 88% score, putting it in 11th place."

Staff also praised Mr O'Hare's leadership, with more than 90% believing he is running the College "on sound moral principles" and is "doing a great job".

Recogntion by the Sunday Times and the DTI rounds off a particularly good year for Holy Cross. The college was the eigth highest college (out of over 400) in the DfES A Level Performance Tables.
