ADULT COURSES Two new courses have been developed, one for beginners in the faith and the other as an Introduction to the Life and Mission of the Catholic Church. These have been accredited on the National Framework of Qualifications and may be eligible for funding from Local Learning and Skills Councils. They are equivalent to GCSE. Further details of the courses may be found on the catechesis page SIXTH FORM GENERAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COURSE. At Level 3 a course has been accredited on the national Framework of Qualifications in order to attract funding for schools and colleges. Further details and a draft of the course may be found on the religious education page INTERNATIONAL MEETING ICARE 8 (International Consultation on Adult Religious Education) met early in May 2003 at Ushaw College near Durham. Nearly 60 participants from all over the world came together to discuss ”Witnessing to Christ in a pluralist world”. The delegates were able to visit Whitby, York, Durham and Lindisfarne.
