14-19 Education Reform : Opportunities and Challenges
*

29th/30th January 2004 – Bredbury Hall Hotel
Goyt Valley, Bredbury, Stockport, Cheshire SK6 2DH

Over 70 senior education managers and leaders: diocesan school commissioners, directors of RE, secondary headteacher representatives and VI Form college principals covering 18 dioceses generously travelled to Stockport in the worst of the winter weather to examine the Government’s proposals for 14-19 and the potential implication for Catholic education.

The outcome of the challenging 2 days will be a toolkit for possible use by dioceses and individual secondary schools (click here to access the toolkit) a stimulating reminder from Bishop Edwin Regan (click here to access the transcript) and a reflective analysis on the potential role of the chaplain in supporting our young people in education settings beyond the school.

The following photographs reflect the intensity of the debate, analysis and reflection.
